My name is Alan Arian and I am a photographer based in Gothenburg. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by the art of photography. I have tried my hand at photographing everything from nature and wildlife to urban environments but nothing has matched the rush I have gotten from photographing human beings in any situation, be it portraiture, studio work or street photography. Since 2012 I became completely fascinated by this genre called street photography.
Discovering this niche has helped be hone my skills and now, urban street photography is what I specialize in. I relish in traveling around the world and capturing people, their expressions, movements, emotions, style, their faces and their body language. I consider what I do and act of freezing just a fraction of a second of a persons existence into a picture. My pictures are never staged, there is no posing and usually I don’t let my subjects know that their picture is being taken. If any of that changes, I tend to refer to the picture as a street portrait, not street photography.
